Freelance Writing is something I have been thinking about a lot these last couple of weeks. I have discovered my passion for writing more than a year ago and started my first blog where I could just get things out. I had no specific target audience or strategy to reach specific people. I just wrote to speak my mind, mostly on technology topics.
When I recently started HighTechNovation.com I was thinking that I’m going to do things differently right from the start. Why? Well I had a specific purpose for this site and one goal in mind: Share innovative technology news and discussions with people from all over, which just by the way includes creative and inspiring people. I want to share all that through writing, hence the birth of FreelanceWritingTactics.com. Even more so after being inspired by a very young but highly successful freelance writer…
I read an article written by Bamidele Onibalusi on ThinkTraffic.net about How To Use Blogging To Launch A Freelance Writing Career which inspired me to get going right away and I started off with my “Hire Me” page. This way people can find out what services I offer and I am obviously more likely to attract interest and clients. The main idea behind that post on ThinkTraffic.net was that in order to get started, you simply have to tell people about your freelance services.
I got so pumped up with inspiration that I immediately thought I needed to do something more. As fate had it, I stumbled upon a post by Pat Flynn on SmartPassiveIncome.com about Reader Challenge Round Up: Interviews and the Next Challenge and guess what?
Interview With Bamidele Onibalusi: Unleash The Freelance Writer Inside You
Indeed. Not only am I taking part in that new challenge but I am doing it with something I have never done before but been interested in doing since I started this site but never took the dive…up until now that is.
I contacted Bamidele Onibalusi and shared my idea with him on doing an interview after my inspiration I got by following him for some time. Little did I know that I’ll be making my very first YouTube video on the FreelanceWritingTactics channel let alone that he’ll agree on going forth with my idea of doing an interview with him.
Well, I met an extraordinary guy with skills at only 18 years of age that some people never acquire in their whole lives as a freelance writer. Bamidele or also known as “Oni” has been around the block for a while especially with YoungPrePro.com, a site dedicated to teaching other freelance writers how to drive traffic and generate income streams through writing. He has worked with some big guns out there, people like Jon Morrow (BoostBlogTraffic & Copyblogger) and Danny Iny (FirePole Marketing) also know as The Freddie Krueger of Blogging.
I sent him a couple of questions which I think any aspiring freelance writer or blogger would appreciate being answered by an expert like Bamidele Onibalusi.
Watch the YouTube video and take in what he had to say…
